Van Horn Chevrolet Honors Our Troops During May’s Military Month Tribute!

Every day, men and women protect the freedoms, ideals and liberties this country holds dear. And to show our thanks, Van Horn Chevrolet is doing what we can to help return the favor during May’s “Military Month” tribute.

For a person serving far away, a call home can be more valuable than gold. Fortunately, Cell Phones for Soldiers provides free calling cards to those overseas. Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded by teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist from Norwell, Mass., with $21 of their own money. Since then, the non-profit organization has raised almost $2 million in donations and distributed more than 500,000 prepaid calling cards to soldiers serving overseas. The organization hopes to continue turning old and unwanted cell phones into more than 12 million minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas. To do so, Cell Phones for Soldiers expects to collect 50,000 cell phones each month through a network of more than 3,000 collection sites across the country. Van Horn Chevrolet is now one of those locations!

You can help support the brave men and women who serve in our military by simply donating any unwanted cell phone you have. The money earned from the sale or recycling of these phones is then used to purchase prepaid calling cards for our soldiers overseas.

We are proud to be a participating Chevrolet dealer to help the brave individuals defending our country. And we’ll do our part by contributing $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers every time we sell a limited-edition 2012 Honor & Valor Camaro SS.

With only 100 available, these red, white or black painted vehicles feature a limited-edition Honor Badge, license plate bracket, heritage grille, side stripes, premium floor mats, painted ground effects, and one year of XM Radio(1). You must be eligible for the GM Military Discount (2) in order to purchase one of these limited-edition vehicles from your dealer. We’re showing additional support for the armed forces by expanding the program to include all active and retired personnel, reservists, and their spouses. But if you’re interested in another Chevrolet, you can still apply the best military discount from any car company toward that car or truck (3). Plus, at no extra charge to you, the dealer can affix a complimentary Honor Badge on any new Chevrolet purchased in May.

It takes a big person to serve their country. And this is the least Van Horn Chevrolet can do to say thank you!
