On May 19th, the Plymouth Review reported a great story featuring a
delivery truck from
Van Horn which will serve as a Meals On Wheels
vehicle! This was made possible by the generosity of local donors who
responded to the Christopher Family Foundation Grant Challenge, which
invited local businesses and philanthropists to help purchase a new
truck.

Senior hunger in America is a monumental problem. Today, there are
nearly 6 million seniors in the United States facing the threat of
hunger. Meals On Wheels Association of America provides well over a
million meals to seniors who need them each day! Their mission is to
provide national leadership to end senior hunger. Here at Van Horn we
are proud to have been able to provide a vehicle to do our part towards
helping our local seniors!
The truck was retro-fitted with a walk-in cooler, and Meals On Wheels
Executive Director, Kelly Heyn, states “as our service area has
increased, so have our transportation needs. This truck gives Meals on
Wheels the ability to better serve the needs of our rural communities.”
