Sheboygan
artist, Dale Knaak, will open a solo exhibit in Gallery 110 North of
the Plymouth Arts Center on Friday, October 8th. Noted for his work
as a painter and muralist, Knaak has created paintings and drawings
inspired by observations and views gathered from his daily routes through
familiar Sheboygan neighborhoods. The new exhibit is entitled, Between
The Streets…alternate routes.
The
public is invited to meet the artist during the opening reception on Friday,
October 8th from 5 to 8 PM. Live musical entertainment will be presented
from 5:30-7:30 PM by Thomas Pibal, piano and vocals. The
show continues from Friday, October 8th through Friday, November 26th.

Knaak was born in Sheboygan and
later moved to Milwaukee to study art where he obtained a degree in
commercial art and studied painting and drawing with the late James
Prohl of Atelier Prohl. He is a realist painter creating current works in
oil and acrylic from his Sheboygan studio. His award-winning work is
found in collections for the American Family Insurance Corp.; UW-Madison Hospitals and Clinics; Johnsonville Sausage World
Headquarters, Blue Harbor Resort; McDonalds Corp. and in many private
collections. Dale created the first public mural (pictured below) in historic
downtown Plymouth, WI. He divides his time between
personal painting, commissioned works and commercial mural projects.
Gallery hours are
Tuesday-Saturday, Noon-4PM and Sunday, 1-4 PM. Admission is always free.
