The former Kayser Chrysler Center of Stoughton has been purchased by
the Van Horn Automotive Group of Plymouth, WI. The new dealership has
been renamed Dane County Auto Sales offering Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and
Ram as well as a wide selection of various pre-owned makes and models.
The store will be owned and operated by J.P. Van Horn, who hopes to
settle into the Stoughton community along with his wife and two sons.
Marty Krepsky, General Manager, is also looking forward to relocating to
the Stoughton community with his family.
“We are honored to become a member of this great community,” said
J.P. Van Horn. “We really have our work cut out for us this time as the
business has been badly neglected for a long time. The previous owners
basically left the place for dead, leaving the employees to make the
best of it. These individuals and the vendors who really supported this
location had lost any real way to make a living. I really respect these
employees who were able to survive and hang on with the rug pulled out
from under them.”
“The good news is that we are going to turn all that around right
now,” J.P. continues. “We are going to completely renovate the entire
building, inside and out. We are also currently hiring many good people
in all departments to grow this team. This will be a great place to do
business and a proud member of the Stoughton community. Our expansion
plans will serve Dane County, but our business model reaches out to
attract customers from all over the country.”
J.P. Van Horn discusses his vision of the future for Dane County Auto Sales. “Unfortunately, only about a dozen employees were able to
survive the dismantling of the Ford franchise and the gutting of the
business. Once I get my furnace fired up and my renovations complete,
Stoughton will enjoy a very successful new business partner to be proud
of, with 20 to 30 new employees and total sales projected in excess of
$25 million dollars annually. Dane County Auto Sales will be a part of
the thriving success story that is Stoughton. Our business model is best
