Lakeshore Technical College is all about going green! They have taken
numerous steps to help the planet, including a carpool van, a “green to
go” camping trailer with solar panels and sustainable parts, a student
garden to grow vegetables for their cafeteria, and have green energy
programs to harness wind power! Through their community outreach,
Lakeshore Tech students are demonstrating to the general public how they
can affect climate change.
The “cool to pool” van was donated by
Van Horn Automotive. The students
say they like the carpooling program because it saves them time,
gasoline and energy, provides preferred parking, and is a small
initiative that can help save the planet! Ridership of the carpool van
increased 60% this year, so we are proud that our donation is having a
big impact on LTC and the environment!
