Van Horn Automotive Donates Truck To Habitat For Humanity

The Van Horn Automotive Group recently donated a Dodge RAM truck to Habitat for Humanity Lakeside. This commitment to Global Stewardship will help Habitat for Humanity serve local families and communities around the world.

Habitat is a nonprofit organization that aims to eliminate poverty housing worldwide through a partnership with local donors, volunteers, and families in need. Since its foundation in 1976, Habitat has improved substandard housing, and built more than 300,000 homes in 90 countries – providing homes to 1.5 million people.

“Habitat for Humanity is a great organization that provides families a decent and affordable place to live,” said Teresa Van Horn, Owner of Joe Van Horn Chevrolet in Plymouth. “We are happy to support their local success with this donation.”

Van Horn Employee Volunteer To Read For Read Across America Day

“Read Across America Day” is a day when schools all across the nation celebrate the importance of reading. Andy Kilcoyne, Service Technician at Joe Van Horn Chevrolet, recognized the importance of reading by volunteering at Horizon Elementary School on March 4th 2013. He took the opportunity to impact the children of our community and made a difference by joining together with Horizon, for a day filled with new faces, loads of books, and lots of important learning! Thank you Andy for being so dedicated to supporting the upcoming generation in our community!

Church Auction Winner Receives New Chevy Malibu From Joe Van Horn Chevrolet



At the beginning of February, St. John the Baptist hosted their biennial dinner auction to raise money for the church and school.  The event was held at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, where guests were able to bid on a variety of silent auction items, and buy raffle tickets for five big prizes.

The Van Horn Automotive Group Recognized With Environmental Stewardship Award

Orion Energy Systems recently awarded the Van Horn Automotive Group for the power reducing energy improvements at their local dealerships.

After switching out the old lighting systems for new energy-efficient instillations designed and manufactured by Orion Energy Systems, Van Horn was able to reduce their power and pollutant output.

Van Horn Auto Group Help Expand Plymouth High School Automotive Lab

PHS auto shop gets new hoists!

The newly expanded automotive lab at Plymouth High School now features two new state-of-the-art vehicle hoists made possible thanks to a partnership with the Van Horn Automotive Group.

The asymmetric hydraulic hoists are exactly like what is used in professional auto shops, said instructor Mike Fels.

In addition, the shop was expanded over the summer, so the new hoists are more conveniently located and easier to drive into. The hoists and shop configuration accommodate more student projects at the same time, Mr. Fels said.

Secret Santa Surprise Revealed to a Deserving Mom

Stephanie and her daughter Lily have been striving hard to make ends meet, Stephanie is a single mom who on some days skips meals so Lily can eat. She has no child support and is just trying to be a good example for her daughter every day. She constantly puts off taking care of herself so she can take care of others.
Although there were hardships for Stephanie and her family, she was able to stay strong and positive through all this.
So on December 17th, 2012 at 7:45 a.m., Stephanie received a surprise phone call from DJ’s Candy and Potter. During the call, Stephanie was totally speechless when she was told she was going to be receiving a huge holiday meal, gift cards for various restaurants, a “Mom and Me Pampering Package” at New Scoop Kids Saloon & Spa to include manicures, ice creams, tiaras, and much more.
